Surprise, surprise. More details on the McLarens P1 hypercar is out and it’s just as badass as everyone expected it to be. Thanks to new figures straight from Woking (McLaren headquarters), we get an even clearer idea as to just how fast and just how capable this supercar really is.
To start, the P1 can manage 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds. This comes courtesy of the 903-hp twin-turbo V8 hybrid engine. Push it even further and the P1 tops out at a mind-boggling top speed of 217 mph.
In addition to the aforementioned performance, McLaren made sure the P1 was also as efficient as possible. 28 MPG (34 MPG UK) comes from under the hood, and C02 emissions are listed at 194 k/km. That is only second in efficiency to the Porsche 918 Spyder in the realm of supercars in production today.
These new figures come at a time when the very first McLaren P1 is being delivered to one lucky new owner. After 17 days of work at the hands of 82 technicians, number 1 of 375 makes its way out of the factory and onto the streets. Only 374 more to go.
