NEW YORK (AP) _ Medallion Financial Corp. (MFIN) on Monday reported a third-quarter loss of $4.7 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The New York-based company said it had a loss of 19 cents per share.
The business development company posted revenue of $42.6 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $33.7 million.
Medallion Financial shares have increased 92 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $6.76, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
