On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had a loss of 45 cents. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, were 1 cent per share.
The investment firm posted revenue of $12.6 million in the period.
In the final minutes of trading on Friday, the company's shares hit $3.22. A year ago, they were trading at $3.67.
