Meet Jay From Houston, the Buff J.Lo Look-Alike Driving the Internet Crazy
You know a photo of Jennifer Lopez when you see it, so people are understandably confused by Instagram pictures of a bodybuilder named Janice Garay, who looks exactly like Jenny from the Block — just in bodybuilder form.
Garay, 28, is the face of the popular Instagram account @JayFromHouston, and some of her photos will have you doing a double-take. In one, Garay poses with her hair swept up in a bun, flawless makeup, and hoop earrings — a classic J.Lo look. In another total J.Lo moment, she cradles her chin in her hand, revealing perfectly manicured nails. And, of course, she has a penchant for pairing athleisure with big hoop earrings just like Lopez. She even has amazing abs like J.Lo, although Garay’s are even more impressive than the pop star’s.

Garay has built up a serious following in the process — she has 126,000 online fans and counting. She follows just 95 people on Instagram, and yup, J.Lo is one of them.
The bodybuilder is definitely aware that people think she looks like J.Lo. “So what you guys are telling me is that everybody has a twin and @jlo happens to be mine??? I’ll take it!” she wrote in one Instagram post, alongside a photo of herself and J.Lo … we think. It’s seriously hard to tell.

People are blown away by the doppelganger situation going on. “I swear I thought it was JLo when I saw your pic,” one person wrote in the comments. “I literally thought that was just two pics of J.Lo,” another said.
Garay tells Yahoo Beauty that she sees the similarity “at some angles” — and she hears the comparisons “every day” from people. Not that she’s complaining. Garay says she’s “flattered because [Lopez] is my idol, someone I’ve looked up to since I was a little girl.”
Of course, there’s one big difference between Lopez and Garay. While the pop star is known for being fit, Garay is a legitimate bodybuilder. She says she first got into bodybuilding about three years ago and fell in love with the sport. “I saw instant results and got addicted,” she says. Garay explains that the best part about bodybuilding is the competitions, specifically being onstage. “I feel it’s where I’m supposed to be,” she says.
And that’s one more thing she and J.Lo have in common.
