Crocs are introducing new styles, and we’re not sure if the world is ready.

Crocs are the divider of all people. The controversial plastic-style shoe splits the entire globe into two love-em or loathe-em camps.

Croc-lovers often cite how comfy the shoes are to wear and how their wipe-clean status makes them the ultimate in practicality.

Croc-haters, however, feel pretty passionate that the shoes are deserving of their infamous “ugly” status, striking them down on some sort of footwear no-no list.

Scoff all you want, but it turns out Crocs are actually a pretty hot seller. That’s according to a new report by the retail resale website thredUP, which found that the rubber clogs have the highest resell rate of any brand on its site — including Anthropologie, Free People, and H&M.

A whopping 97% of Crocs sell out within three months of being listed, which is 58% faster than items typically sell on the website.

And fashion designers are catching onto their cult popularity too. Christopher Kane bought back the rubber design for a second time during London Fashion Week SS18, giving the plastic clog a drastic redesign with bold rhinestones.

In October Balenciaga became the latest designer to try and make Crocs trendy at Paris Fashion Week, adding a platform heel to give the foam shoe a more “high-end” look.

Now the company is coming over all technological by introducing LiteRide, their most innovative design yet.

Created from “equal parts science and magic” (Crocs’ words not ours), next-gen Crocs offer a “delightful mix of support and sink-in softness.”

According to the designers, the foam in the new-style Crocs is 40% softer and 25% lighter than the foam in your standard Crocs.

“We’re witnessing a shift from comfort being a ‘nice-to-have’ to a consumer ‘must-have,’ and we think LiteRide answers that call,” Michelle Poole, Crocs senior vice president of global product and marketing, explains.

“In fact, our LiteRide comfort technology is a perfect fit for consumers who want to feel comfortable all day every day, or who simply want a stylish complement to their athleisure wear.”

The new comfort technology will be available from crocs.com in a range of styles, including the Clog, the Slide, the Sandal, the Flip, the Slip-On, the Lace, the Pacer, and the Mule — you know, just in case you feel like incorporating Crocs into your entire shoe wardrobe.
