Meghan & Harry Are Leaning on His Famous Couple Amid Their Rumored Drama with Kate & Will

It’s no secret that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are close with George Clooney and his wife, respected barrister Amal Clooney. Now, a source claims that George and Amal Clooney are also supporting Meghan Markle and Prince Harry amid their rumored feud with Prince William and Kate Middleton. But that’s not the only celebrity confidant the Duchess of Sussex is relying on. Markle is also reportedly turning to her new friend, Rihanna, for support and advice amid this stressful time.

Markle’s transition to royal life hasn’t been easy. In the past few years, the Duchess of Sussex has become engaged, married Prince Harry, had a son and faced ruthless vitriol from tabloids, the public and her estranged family. A source told Heat magazine, “Meghan feels that the palace’s way of transitioning her from Hollywood actress to British royal did her no favours, and now she’s prepared to go over their heads and speak to the people she thinks can help her best.” The source continued, “You can’t get much more of a publicity powerhouse than George Clooney, or, more to the point a cleverer woman than Amal.”

The Clooneys and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had a wonderful friendship for years. The Oscar winner, who has gone on vacation and even hosted dinner parties with the royal couple, has defended the Duchess of Sussex a number of times. The A-list couple is said to be offering the new mother and father parenting advice and simply being a third party to lean on in this trying transition. They are also offering Markle suggestions of various charities she could offer her time to with sister-in-law Kate Middleton.

Markle has also started a friendship with Grammy winner Rihanna, which began after they moved to the UK around the same time. An insider also revealed to Closer, “It’s been tough for Meghan, but she finally feels like she’s settling in more to life in England, now she has a close support network there.” The source continued, “Meghan’s been on cloud nine since becoming a mum, and she and Harry are happier than ever.”

Major life transitions are never as easy as they appear.
