This is what Meghan Markle was doing at 4:30 in the morning

The Duchess of Sussex is fighting jet lag — and staying in shape throughout her pregnancy — by doing yoga.

The 37-year-old, who visited Bondi Beach in Australia on Friday morning to meet with local surfers and greet members of the public, told locals she was working out before the sun even came up.

“She was saying yoga is what she does. It’s her outlet,” Kavie Jarrott, from surfing community group OneWave, tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “So at 4:30 in the morning she woke up. She was jet-lagged and she just got up, did her yoga in the house, and that was enough to give her the energy to get her through the day.”

Charlotte Bodell, who lives in Sydney, tells Yahoo Lifestyle that Meghan told her the exact same thing. “With the jet lag at the moment she’s up at 4:30 a.m., and she said what I do, I do yoga straight away,” Bodell reports. Adding, “She hasn’t just got jet lag but she’s got a beautiful baby on the way as well.”

Lisa Nicholls, who drove seven hours to meet Prince Harry and Meghan, said the duchess told her yoga helps her with “the mindfulness of trying to push anything bad out of your mind and breathing.”

Back in 2016, Meghan gushed to Best Health magazine about her love of yoga, saying she practices it a couple of times a week. “Yoga is my thing. My mom is a yoga instructor, and I started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her when I was seven,” she said at the time. “At this moment in my life, I would define yoga as the balance between desiring more and being content with what is.”

Meghan’s former Instagram page was also scattered with images of her contorting her body into mind-boggling yoga poses.
