It may not be her birthday, but Meghan Markle certainly drew attention at tonight's banquet in honor of the Prince of Wales with a pair of stunning diamond earrings.

The Duchess of Sussex was photographed leaving Kensington Palace for the event wearing a striking pair, which she also wore last month in Fiji.

While Meghan is clearly a fan of the jewelry, its provenance is still something of a mystery.

When Meghan wore them in October, Emily Andrews, a royal correspondent and host of the royal news podcast "On Heir," reported that the pieces were 'borrowed,' but it's unclear from whom.

"All KP will say is that they’re 'borrowed.' From whom, they will not say. Most likely the Queen," she said in a tweet.

Should more information be made available, we'll be sure to update.

Royals from across Europe will be in attendance at the party tonight, including King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, and King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway.

But this is hardly the first time Charles has celebrated his milestone birthday. While Harry and Meghan missed a concert and dinner thrown by Camilla in October (they were in the middle of their royal tour of the Oceania region), they were on-hand for a Buckingham Palace garden party in Charles's honor just a few days after their royal wedding in May.

On that occasion, Meghan wore a rather conservative blush pink look while Prince Harry gave a heartfelt speech about his father, highlighting his philanthropic and advocacy work.

“His enthusiasm and energy are truly infectious,” Prince Harry said about his dad. “It has certainly inspired William and I to get involved in issues we care passionately about and to do whatever we can to make a difference.”

“In fact, many of the issues William and I now work on are subjects we were introduced to by our father growing up," Harry continued. "His passion and dedication are remarkable and seeing so many of you here today i cannot fail but to be in awe of the drive he has had for so many years to contribute to the enrichment of society both in this country and around the world."
