  • Yesterday, the palace shared details about what Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s role in the royal family will look like after they step down.

  • Apparently, everyone involved in forming the agreement—including Meghan, Harry, and Queen Elizabeth—is “pleased” with the outcome.

Hello, and yes, we are still talking about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new role in the royal family, ’cause it’s truly all that matters this weekend!

As you one hundred percent know by now, Harry and Meghan pulled a shocking move earlier this month by announcing that they’d be stepping down as senior members of the royal family. It caused all kinds of drama, as Harry and Meghan reportedly didn’t tell the queen/anyone at the palace that they were making the announcement.

Prince Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton were all thought to be upset by Meghan and Harry’s decision and the way they went about sharing the news (Harry’s father, Charles, was reportedly “incandescent with rage,” yikes!), and there were also reports that the queen initially refused to take a meeting with Harry afterward (double yikes!).

However, just 10 days after Harry and Meg’s bombshell Instagram post, it looks like the royal family has sorted things out. Yesterday, the palace announced that the queen came to an agreement with Meghan and Harry and shared details about their new roles. And thankfully, it seems like everyone is happy with the new arrangement—according to royal expert Omid Scobie, “All discussions have been friendly and constructive and all involved pleased with outcome.”

Plus, the queen’s tone in her statement is very supportive and loving. She wrote, “Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be much-loved members of the family” and “it is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”

So maybe this marks the end of the royal drama!
