Meghan Markle’s Internet presence went relatively dark after she started dating Prince Harry, including her lifestyle website The Tig, but according to a recent filing, she may be looking to relaunch it. Meghan’s business manager Andrew Meyer recently filed documents in the United States for Meghan to keep the rights for The Tig until 2021. While it’s possible this is just a precautionary step to ensure that no one else uses the name for something without her involvement, it could also mean that Meghan is looking to relaunch the site to promote her new royal causes.

“It’s fascinating Meghan’s business manager has ensured she keeps The Tig for a few more years at least. Of course it’s understandable she wouldn’t want an entrepreneur using the name without her involvement,” a source told The Sun. “But given her desire to be a different type of royal — pushing her own causes using digital and social media — it’s not out of the question she’d think The Tig could play an important role.”

There is also a website named Tigtots that was trademarked, which many are assuming could be aimed at parents, considering Meghan recently became a mom for the first time back in May.

Meghan’s spokesperson has commented on the new filing, saying it was done to ensure that no one uses the name for something without her consent.

“The lasting trademark is to prevent false branding, to avoid others purporting to be the Duchess or affiliated with her,” the spokesperson said

Back when it was up and running, The Tig served as a place for Meghan’s thoughts on everything from fashion to sustainable traveling. She closed the website quietly back in April 2017, when she was already dating Prince Harry but ahead of their royal engagement.
