Meghan Markle Thinks Swearing "Adds Character"

For former lifestyle blogger-turned-duchess Meghan Markle, the past few years have been an absolute whirlwind.
Back when Markle was still dispensing life advice on the Internet, the soon-to-be royal wrote about her New Year’s Resolutions for 2016 (which happened to be the year she met and began dating Prince Harry).
In her post on the now defunct The Tig, Markle detailed her “unladylike” habits, which included biting her nails and swearing. "These make my New Year's resolution list nearly (aka actually every) single year,” Markle wrote, noting that she also hoped to run a marathon and re-learn French.
“The marathon hasn’t happened. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks,” she explained. Um, “mighty cheeky”? Are we sure Meghan isn’t British?
“And when it comes to the biting of the nails,” she continued, “Well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It's unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit."
Markle went on to explain that she probably won’t be giving up her bad habits anytime soon, and she’s cool with that. “My nails will be fine, and if I toss out a four letter word once in a blue moon, well frankly I think it adds character." (Tell that to the Queen, but OK.)

"For this new year, the only thing I aim to do is to approach life playfully. To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher,” she wrote. "My New Year's resolution is to leave room for magic. To make my plans, and be OK if they sometimes break. To set my goals, but to be open to change. To let the magic know that there is an open door policy with me in 2016 and that it is always welcome to join the party.”
Falling in love with a prince and tying the knot less than two years later? We’d say that’s pretty D-A-M-N magical.
