Meghan Markle is already a trend-setting mom.

Although there’s still a few weeks to go until the arrival of Baby Sussex, the Duchess is making headlines for ditching royal tradition, and opting for some modern gear for her firstborn.

While the royal family has long relied on the Silver Cross pram for their high-profile tots, last week photographers snapped a delivery vehicle from London-based brand iCandy arriving at the Sussexes’ Frogmore Cottage home.

According to the company’s website, iCandy offers luxury strollers and even customized baby transportation systems which retail for as much as $2,700 CAD.

We already know that Meghan and Harry have taken a unique, more modern view of pregnancy and birth – reading up on natural-birthing techniques, including hypnobirthing or home birthing,” stroller expert Emma Coffey revealed. “Their interest in iCandy also shows a departure from the traditional style of prams favoured by Kate Middleton and Prince William – and in fact Princess Diana and Prince Charles and the Queen and Prince Phillip!”

The Sussex family isn’t the only royal fan. Cousin Zara Tindall has been spotted pushing an iCandy stroller for her two daughters.

Although pricey, reviews online for iCandy products are overwhelmingly positive. With a modern, sleek design, parents rave over the maneuverability of iCandy strollers.

One of the brand’s most popular products, the iCandy Peach ($1,764 CAD) is a fully customizable stroller, that transitions with baby from birth.

“I loved the ease of folding this stroller,” reads a review of the brand’s Peach model from blogger Stroller Diva. “When folded, the Peach takes up remarkably little room and will fit in virtually any small car trunk. In really tight spots, the wheels can easily be removed to save space… It’s not cheap, but this is reflected in the quality.”
