'Men owe women a huge favor': Actor Peter Fonda chimes in on Time's Up

Ahead of Sunday’s Golden Globes, arguably the first Hollywood event following the bombshell revelations of widespread sexual misconduct and assault in the industry, many are discussing how the issue will be dealt with during the awards ceremony. A gathering of stars this Saturday in Los Angeles for the annual British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) Tea Party, many actors and film and television professionals spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle out about their take on the proposed symbolic donning of all-black fashion to make a statement on the red carpet.

Even legendary actor Peter Fonda chimed in while attending the BAFTA event, offering his perspective on the issues, on Time’s Up, and on the continuing conversation about the abuse of power in Hollywood. He stated that he’s all in favor of the black dress movement. “There is so much that needs to be talked about,” said Fonda standing with his wife on the BAFTA red carpet. “Fortunately, right now is a brilliant time to be talking about it.”

“We all came from women,” he continued. “We owe them a huge favor. Without them, there is no us!”
