Merriman Capital Hosts Wounded Warrior Project Event - December 17, 2014

SAN FRANCISCO - November 20, 2014 - Merriman Capital, Inc. ("Merriman"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Merriman Holdings, Inc. (MERR), announced today they will be hosting a holiday event in support of Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) and their long-term care initiatives. The event will be held at San Francisco`s Marines` Memorial Club and Hotel on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, and is co-hosted by Merriman Capital and Dartmouth Silicon Valley.

Wounded Warrior Project and Merriman Capital`s Digital Capital Network are working together to reach their goal of raising $500 million to fund a first-of-its-kind program focused on the most severely injured veterans - The Long-Term Support Trust. This program ensures services including life-skills training, home care, transportation, and additional resources remain available to the severely wounded who, upon the loss of their caregiver, are at risk for institutionalization. Established to empower each warrior to live independently as possible, with the highest quality of life and the finest, most compassionate care, the Trust provides families with access to secured funding allocated to cover the costs of up to 20 years of support services.

"As a firm, we are deeply honored to help this world class, nonprofit organization raise capital in an innovative way," said Jon Merriman, Chief Executive Officer, Merriman Capital, Inc. "We expect over 95% of the funds donated to go into a trust, which will be administered through advisory panels in consultation with individual warriors or their representatives when it is needed. Our government has let these soldiers down after they have done so much for our country, and the Independence Program is a tangible, vitally needed way for us to fill the gap and help those that deserve so much of our thanks."

"Starting with WWP, Merriman Capital is enabling communication between institutionally oriented donors and large national non-profits. American philanthropy among the family offices is driven mostly by personal relationships and local community needs. We hope to scale our portfolio of non-profits listed on the DCN to allow our community to view multiple alternatives to their philanthropic giving," says Will Febbo, CEO of DCN. "We will assess the non-profits in terms of geographic footprint and impact in their area of focus, and WWP is incredibly impactful on a national basis and focused on our veterans."
