MEXICO CITY, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Mexico's central bank will provide more information in its inflation forecasts for the upcoming eight quarters in a bid to provide the public with more economic data, the monetary authority said in a statement on Thursday.
The forecasts will cover both general and core inflation.
The bank, known locally as Banxico, will also identify the votes of each member of its board in monetary policy statements going forward.
"This will provide greater clarity on the decision-making process," the statement added, noting that both new bank policies will be implemented starting Aug. 12, the date of the next monetary policy announcement. (Reporting by Noe Torres; Editing by David Alire Garcia and Jonathan Oatis)
