New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange and Los Lonely Boys Team Up in New Public Service Announcement
PSA Encourages New Mexicans to Enroll in Healthcare Coverage Prior to the March 31 Deadline
ALBUQUERQUE, NM--(Marketwired - February 27, 2014) - The latest effort to remind families and individuals to enroll in affordable healthcare coverage prior to March 31, 2014 features the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange (NMHIX) and Grammy Award-winning music artists, Los Lonely Boys, uniting to film a Public Service Announcement (PSA). The PSA will launch state-wide this week and run through the end of open enrollment.
Best known for the success of their debut single "Heaven," Los Lonely Boys filmed the spot with NMHIX during their most recent music tour of the United States for new album Revelation at the KTAO Solar Center in Taos, NM. The three brothers urge New Mexicans to enroll for coverage, a recommendation underscored by the personal experience of an unexpected injury.
"We all know that accidents can happen unexpectedly and it's critical to have reliable healthcare coverage in those difficult times," said Ringo Garza, singer and drummer for Los Lonely Boys. Families and individuals must enroll by the March 31, 2014 deadline in order to be covered in 2014. After this deadline, individuals and families will need to wait until Oct. 1, 2014 for the chance to sign up for coverage that will not begin until 2015.
