Michael Strahan's $500,000 Court Battle With Ex-Wife Over Child Support Heating Up

Ryan Naumann

Michael Strahan is headed back to court with his ex-wife Jean Strahan in their battle over $500,000 in child support.

According to court records obtained by The Blast, a New York judge has set a hearing date of February 14, where Michael and Jean will face-off once again. The two have been duking it out in court for over a year over their previous divorce agreement.

The two were married in 1999 but ended their relationship in 2006. The divorce was nasty and ended with Jean being awarded $15.3 million and $18,000 a month in child support.

The two share 15-year-old twin daughters, Sophia and Isabella, who live with their mother. The child support was decreased down to around $13,000 a month in 2009.

In September 2019, Jean took Michael back to court in New York. She accuses him of owing her over $500,000 in support.

Jean said Michael agreed to cover half of their daughter’s horseback riding bills. She said the bill came out to $450,802 since 2017. However, she said Michael has refused to pay the $225,000. Michael claims he never agreed to such a deal with Jean.

She is also seeking back child support saying the amount was never adjusted since 2010. She believes cost of living should be applied to the $13,000 a month child support. Michael is also making a ton of money with his “Good Morning America” gig, NFL hosting jobs and countless endorsement deals.

Jean is seeking a total of $321,654 in back child support plus $225k for the horse bill. Michael is reportedly not fighting the increase for cost of living but wants a formula they both agree on.

Back in November, Michael went to court accusing his ex-wife of being extremely difficult during the case. He said they had hired a parenting coordinator to try and resolve their issues, which he paid 90% of the cost. However, he accuses Jean of having engaged in a

Back in November, Michael went back to court demanding a judge step in. He said the two agreed to hire a parenting coordinator to help them resolve their issues but claimed Jean engaged in a "pattern of conduct designed to increase unnecessarily the involvement of the PC and to significantly increase the fees charged by the PC."

Jean accused the PC of siding with Michael because he was paying the majority of the bill. Michael asked Jean to pay half of the bill to avoid the conflict but she allegedly refused.

The two will fight it out in court next month.
