LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) _ MidSouth Bancorp Inc. (MSL) on Wednesday reported a loss of $22.3 million in its fourth quarter.
The bank, based in Lafayette, Louisiana, said it had a loss of $1.39 per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 66 cents per share.
The bank holding company posted revenue of $24.1 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $22 million, which beat Street forecasts.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $27.5 million, or $1.85 per share. Revenue was reported as $87.6 million.
MidSouth shares have risen 4.5 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $11.08, a decrease of 24 percent in the last 12 months.
