From Digital Spy

Just last week, Mindhunter's executive producer David Fincher revealed when the crime thriller will return for its long-anticipated second season, and now we've been gifted with a whole host of new pictures to tease what we can expect.

There's plenty going on here, but what really stands out to us is the confirmation that one of the most dangerous serial killers featured in season one is making a return, plus one that was hinted at.

Have a look through the pictures and then we'll delve in.

Yep, that is both Ed Kemper (played by Cameron Britton) and the BTK Killer Dennis Rader (played by Sonny Valicenti) who was hinted at in season one and who we honestly didn't think would be returning.

The second season, which was confirmed all the way back in 2017, will be set between 1979 and 1981, two years after the events of season one.

The focus this time will be on the Atlanta child murders, which were a series of at least 28 killings of African-American children, teenagers and adults. Another serial killer, Wayne Williams, was convicted for two of them.

Beyond that, season two will also feature Charles Manson, played by actor Damon Herriman... who will also play Manson in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Mindhunter returns for its nine-episode second season on Netflix on August 16, while season one is available to stream now.
