The Master Limited Partnership Association (“MLPA”) announced the hiring of Capitol Hill veteran Lori E. L. Ziebart as the organization’s new Executive Director.
Ms. Ziebart will lead and manage MLPA’s operations and outreach activities with policymakers and the investment community to communicate the significant value master limited partnerships (“MLPs”) contribute to the U.S. economy. MLPs invest billions of dollars of private capital to build and operate domestic energy infrastructure, support hundreds of thousands of jobs and provide a steady stream of income to investors.
“We are excited Lori will be leading the MLPA team in Washington,” said W. Randall Fowler, chairman of MLPA and president of the general partner of Enterprise Products Partners L.P. “Her considerable corporate experience and extensive relationships on Capitol Hill will help ensure lawmakers understand the important role MLPs play in creating jobs and fostering greater energy independence for the United States.”
Ms. Ziebart spent several years on Capitol Hill, holding positions of increasing responsibility including tax counsel to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. Ms. Ziebart also previously worked for KPMG and Vinson & Elkins, and served as Vice President of Government Affairs for El Paso Corporation and Goldman Sachs before establishing her own consulting business. For the past year, she has been engaged by MLPA to support its legislative and regulatory outreach activities. Ms. Ziebart is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and Georgetown University Law Center.
Mary Lyman will continue to serve MLPA as its Administrative Director.
“I would like to recognize and thank Mary Lyman, who served as the association’s Executive Director for the last 12 years and for the contributions she has made to its success," continued Fowler. "We are pleased she will remain on the team as our Administrative Director."
Steve Ruhlen will remain MLPA’s Director of Federal Affairs. Both Ms. Lyman and Mr. Ruhlen will report to Ms. Ziebart.
