Monarch Airlines Helps Birmingham Cool Off on the Hottest Day of the Year

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Jul 23, 2013) - Sunday 30 June saw temperatures soar into the high 70s and Monarch, the leading scheduled leisure airline, was on hand to help locals cool off with free ice creams.

Replacing the traditional jingle with summer 'feel good' music, the new Monarch ice cream van could be seen on the streets across Birmingham giving out the free ice creams and the chance for people to win a pair of free flights to one of Monarch's summer sun destinations.

Supporting the launch of new flights to Bordeaux and Split from Birmingham, more people from across the West Midlands will be able to enjoy a treat courtesy of Monarch as the van carries on its tour of the region during the next three weeks.

Kevin George, Managing Director, Monarch Airlines commented: "The Monarch ice cream van demonstrates our commitment to putting the fun back into flying. We are very keen to offer our customers those extra little touches and what better way to do this than free ice cream on the hottest day of the year."

Monarch also operates routes to the Balearic and Canary Islands, Cyprus, Egypt, Gibraltar, Greece, Italy, Madeira, Portugal and Turkey from Birmingham Airport.
