DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) _ Mondelez International Inc. (MDLZ) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $823 million.
The Deerfield, Illinois-based company said it had profit of 56 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 63 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 63 cents per share.
The maker of Oreo cookies, Cadbury chocolate and Trident gum posted revenue of $6.77 billion in the period, exceeding Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $6.76 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $3.38 billion, or $2.28 per share. Revenue was reported as $25.94 billion.
Mondelez shares have risen slightly more than 9 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has risen roughly 7 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $43.81, a drop of 1 percent in the last 12 months.
