A Wells Fargo automated teller machine can do much more than provide cash. Wells Fargo ATMs allow you to make deposits, transfer funds, get your account balance or print a statement. For certain transactions, you might have to pay ATM fees or bank fees. Fees vary depending on the type of service required, whether you’re in the United States or overseas and whether you’re using an ATM at another financial center or one of the many Wells Fargo locations. Transactions can be free at some locations and run upwards of $5 or more at others.

Wells Fargo doesn’t have any international ATM locations, and the bank always charges you a fee to use an overseas ATM. Debit Card Fees

When you use your debit card internationally to make a purchase in a foreign currency, you incur a fee equal to 3 percent of the transaction amount. In the event you want to withdraw money from a non-Wells Fargo bank, note that some ATMs won’t let you choose a specific account or allow that type of transaction. In that case, you might opt to use the in-bank counter to withdraw money using your debit card. Wells Fargo’s debit card over-the-counter withdrawal fee is $3 in the U.S. and 3 percent of the transaction amount internationally.

How to Save on Fees

As a Wells Fargo customer, your best bet to save on fees is to go to a Wells Fargo branch location. You can search for the closest Wells Fargo ATM on your computer or smartphone; type in “Wells Fargo ATM near me” or “Wells Fargo near me” to conduct a search, or look up Wells Fargo ATM locations at the company website.
