MILPITAS, Calif. (AP) _ Nanometrics Inc. (NANO) on Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $3.9 million.
On a per-share basis, the Milpitas, California-based company said it had profit of 16 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 21 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 21 cents per share.
The maker of semiconductor manufacturing equipment posted revenue of $67.6 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $65.6 million.
Nanometrics shares have increased 31% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $35.75, a fall of 1.5% in the last 12 months.
