Nasdaq Composite: What Are You Buying That's Driving New Highs?

Kevin Cook

We know the Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) has been a strong market-leading index this summer, with Apple, Microsoft, Gilead Sciences, Priceline.com, and Facebook (FB) "pulling their weight" in this cap-weighted basket.

But, today the Nasdaq Composite also made a new bull market high over 4,500. This is still over 10% from the Tech Bubble highs of 2000. But it is remarkable nonetheless because it means many other stocks besides the big caps are making new highs.

From the Nasdaq website, I gathered that there are about 300 mid-cap stocks in the Nasdaq Composite and over 900 small-caps, as well as nearly 1,000 micro-caps stocks. Here are some tickers from the mids and smalls that standout to me lately, with obvious representation from the Biotech wing of the market (IBB)...

Mid-Caps

JAZZ
SLXP
PCYC
MDVN
BMRN
SCTY
FSLR
INCY
CTRP

Small-Caps

CSIQ
ACHN
KERX
HAWK
EPZM
BCRX
IRDM
SANM
SAIA

What mid and small-cap growth stocks are you buying (or being joined in recently by others) that is driving the COMP to new highs?
