Natural Gas Services: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

MIDLAND, Texas (AP) _ Natural Gas Services Group Inc. (NGS) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $247,000.

The Midland, Texas-based company said it had net income of 2 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 6 cents per share.

The maker of natural gas compression equipment and industrial flare systems posted revenue of $18.2 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $17.5 million.

Natural Gas Services shares have decreased 15 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen almost 10 percent in the last 12 months.
