BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Neighbors of property in western Idaho where a company aims to construct a nuclear power plant are suing the local government there in an effort to block the project.
The neighbors seek to force Payette County to dump a 20-year development agreement with Alternate Energy Holdings Inc.
In a statement Tuesday, John Burlile and others say they aren't asking for money.
Instead, they want Payette County to rescind all decisions that helped the small company engage in what plaintiffs contend was a fraudulent stock scheme.
Last week, AEHI settled with investors for $450,000 to resolve allegations the company schemed to mislead shareholders.
Don Gillispie, the company's president, denies wrongdoing.
Monday's latest lawsuit alleges Payette County violated land-use planning laws.
Payette County commissioners hadn't yet reviewed the 3rd District Court complaint.
