Netflix has competition abroad

The media streaming company will grow to 65 mil int'l subscribers by '23, a sixfold increase, but it won't come easily, according to a new report by Bernstein Research. Netflix (NFLX) will face stiff competition from Amazon (AMZN), BSkyB, Vivendi, and Fox in Europe, according to the report. Netflix already has operations in the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, and analysts expect the company to enter France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Turkey. Last month, Netflix said it had 10.9 mil int'l subscribers as of Dec. 31, up 79% from 6.1 mil a year earlier. Netflix shares rose 0.8% to 452.23.
