On a per-share basis, the Westford, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 78 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 3 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was breakeven on a per-share basis.
The provider of products that gauge network performance posted revenue of $205.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $206 million, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $209.7 million.
NetScout expects full-year earnings to be $1.41 per share, with revenue expected to be $999.3 million.
NetScout shares have risen slightly since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 10 percent in the last 12 months.
