TAIWAN VS SAMSUNG: The battle between Taiwanese companies and Samsung appears to be tilting in favor of the South Korean electronics maker. Exports are sliding for Taiwain's smartphone, memory chip and display panel makers.
KILL TAIWAIN: Many in Taiwan fear that Samsung has deliberately targeted Taiwanese firms. Business Today, Taiwan's top business magazine, last month had an extensive cover story accusing Samsung Electronics of launching a "Kill Taiwan" effort. Taiwan's Fair Trade Commission recently launched an investigation into allegations that Samsung planted unflattering comments about Taiwanese consumer electronics on the Internet as a way of undermining their appeal to customers.
DENIAL: A Samsung spokeswoman said business strategies like "Kill Taiwan" do not exist at the company.
