On this week’s episode of Full-Court Finance, we dive into the recent NFL pizza sponsorship saga, the potential continuation of a major college basketball corruption scandal, legal issues involving Nike and Adidas, and much more.

Up first, Papa John’s PZZA is out as the official pizza sponsor of the NFL, and Yum Brands’ YUM Pizza Hut is in. However, Papa John’s is still set to play a large role in the NFL. And at the same time, the league’s new sponsor, which has struggled to grow its same-store sales recently, must figure out how to capitalize on the NFL despite its the ratings dip.

Meanwhile, Disney’s DIS ESPN recently broke a story that claimed Arizona Wildcats head basketball coach Sean Miller was caught on FBI wire taps discussing paying for a recruit. Miller has since denied the report, which could have significant implications for schools ahead of the annual March tournament.

College basketball’s corruption scandal could also impact big businesses that will be on display over the next month, including CBS CBS and Time Warner’s TWX Turner as well as sports apparel giant and Arizona sponsor, Nike NKE.

On top of the potential game-changing college hoops scandal, Nike and fellow sportswear power Adidas ADDYY recently won significant legal battles regarding their world famous brands.
