OLATHE, Kan. (AP) _ NIC Inc. (EGOV) on Wednesday reported second-quarter earnings of $14.5 million.
On a per-share basis, the Olathe, Kansas-based company said it had net income of 21 cents.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 18 cents per share.
The developer of government online services, websites and mobile applications posted revenue of $91.6 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $85.6 million.
NIC expects full-year earnings to be 71 cents to 73 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $347.5 million to $352.5 million.
NIC shares have risen 45% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $18.14, a rise of 11% in the last 12 months.
