NICS background checks rose to 2.21M in March, FBI data shows

Total National Instant Criminal Background Checks, NICS, applications, which are used in the approval of firearms sales, rose to 2.21M in March from 1.73M in the same month in the prior year, according to data posted to the FBI's website. Publicly-traded gun makers include Smith & Wesson (SWHC) and Sturm, Ruger & Company (RGR), while Cabelas (CAB) is a leading gun retailer.
