VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) _ NLight Inc. (LASR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $7.5 million in its first quarter.
The Vancouver, Washington-based company said it had a loss of 20 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, were 8 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 17 cents per share.
The laser maker posted revenue of $43.2 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $39.8 million.
For the current quarter ending in July, nLight said it expects revenue in the range of $45 million to $51 million.
NLight shares have fallen 12% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $17.89, a fall of 31% in the last 12 months.
