VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) _ NLight Inc. (LASR) on Monday reported a third-quarter loss of $778,000, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Vancouver, Washington-based company said it had a loss of 2 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense, came to 1 cent per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 2 cents per share.
The laser maker posted revenue of $43.8 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $44 million.
For the current quarter ending in December, nLight said it expects revenue in the range of $36 million to $40 million.
NLight shares have declined 18% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $14.61, a drop of 29% in the last 12 months.
