New Nokia 3310 To Appear At MWC 2017

    Ken Manbert Salcedo
    International Business TimesFebruary 14, 2017

HDM Global is rumored to unveil four handsets under the Nokia brand during this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The most interesting thing about this new rumor is that the company will release a "modern version" of the classic Nokia 3310.

HMD Global may have already debuted the Android 7.0 Nougat Nokia 6 smartphone in China, but the device hasn’t reached other territories yet. The company will officially launch the Nokia 6 in other regions during its MWC presentation.

As a refresher, the Nokia 6 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display, a Snapdragon 430 processor with 4GM of RAM and 64GB of storage. The handset also comes with 16MP/8MP cameras and a front-facing fingerprint sensor.

The device sells for around US$247 when converted from its Chinese price of CNY 1,699. The Nokia 6 is said to sell for €249 (around US$263) when it launches at MWC 2017.

The other two smartphones that HMD Global will unveil is expected to have lower specs than the Nokia 6 to make their prices even cheaper. First up is the Nokia 5 which is said to come with a 5.2-inch 720p HD display, 2GB of RAM and a 12MP rear-facing camera, according to Evan Blass from VentureBeat.

Those lower specs will apparently make the Nokia 5 €50 cheaper than the Nokia 6 with a price tag of just €199 (around US$210). The other smartphone, believed to be called the Nokia 3, will have an even lower price of €149 (around US$157). Unfortunately, Blass’ report didn’t give out the Nokia 3’s specs only stating that the device will be an entry-level Android smartphone.

Lastly, HMD Global will be showing off a new version of the classic Nokia 3310 feature phone. For those who aren’t familiar with the original Nokia 3310, the device was first released back in 2000 and was one of the most successful phones ever released by Nokia at the time. The Nokia 3310 gained its reputation for being extremely durable, while also delivering long battery life. Nokia was able to sell more than 100 million units of the 3310, according to Phone Arena.

There’s no word yet on what exactly the new Nokia 3310 will look like, nor is there any information on any of its specs. However, the phone is said to sell for just €59 (around US$60).

HMD Global will launch the new phones at MWC 2017 on Feb. 26. The company is expected to target the European market, while distribution to other countries is still unknown.

10 Dividend Stocks You Can Set and Forget

There is a solution, however, for investors who’ve become mentally exhausted thanks to a bull market that has now persisted for a stunning nine years — just buy some dividend stocks and stop watching the market every day. With that as the backdrop, if you don’t know how or where to start a hunt for new income-oriented holdings, here’s a look at ten great dividend stocks that would at home in almost any investor’s portfolio. Telecom giant AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) is an oldie but a goodie, and with uncharacteristic weakness from the stock since the middle of 2016, the dividend yield has been pumped up to an impressive 5.3%.

Trump administration says no oil drilling off Florida coast

The Trump administration said Tuesday it would not allow oil drilling off the coast of Florida, abruptly reversing course under pressure from Republican Gov. Rick Scott. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke said after a brief meeting with Scott at the Tallahassee airport that drilling would be "off the table" when it comes to waters in the eastern Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean off Florida. The change of course — just five days after Zinke announced the offshore drilling plan — highlights the political importance of Florida, where President Donald Trump narrowly won the state's 29 electoral votes in the 2016 election and has encouraged Scott to run for Senate.

Cryptocurrencies have been known to trade at significant premiums in South Korea, often times many magnitudes higher than on other exchanges, due to localized demand and strict national controls on capital movement.

Don't Retire Early - Change Careers Instead

Ask five people what it means to retire early and you're likely to get five different answers. Some would consider leaving work before age 65 as early retirement, while others would argue that it has to happen before age 45. Regardless of how you quantify “early,” saying adios to work isn't necessarily the solution to a happy and fulfilling mid-life experience. Many people who long for early retirement may have never known true job satisfaction. A better goal for some may be to shoot for a mid-life career change instead of an early retirement. Why People Retire Early Why do people retire early? Sometimes it's unplanned: a layoff, a long-term illness or caring for a loved one. In these cases,

Supreme Court takes the wheel in 2 cases of vehicle searches

The Supreme Court's justices put themselves in the driver's seat Tuesday, hearing arguments in two cases involving vehicle searches, but it was unclear what routes the justices will take to resolve the cases. One case involved Pennsylvania state troopers' stop of a rental car driven by a man who wasn't on the rental agreement. "One of the things that I think is very important in these types of cases is the ability to give clear guidance not only to the courts but to the police," Chief Justice Roberts said.
