Noodles & Co. reports 4Q loss

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) _ Noodles & Co. (NDLS) on Wednesday reported a loss of $45.4 million in its fourth quarter.

The Broomfield, Colorado-based company said it had a loss of $1.63 per share. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, were 4 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.

The restaurant chain posted revenue of $129.4 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $129.9 million.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $71.7 million, or $2.58 per share. Revenue was reported as $487.5 million.

Noodles & Co. expects full-year revenue in the range of $465 million to $475 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $3.90. A year ago, they were trading at $13.15.
