WESTLAKE, Ohio (AP) _ Nordson Corp. (NDSN) on Monday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $91.9 million.
On a per-share basis, the Westlake, Ohio-based company said it had net income of $1.58. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains, came to $1.54 per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.59 per share.
The maker of adhesives and industrial coatings posted revenue of $551.1 million in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $556.7 million.
Nordson shares have climbed slightly more than 9% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $130.59, a decrease of 3% in the last 12 months.
