Norway's wealth fund earned $28.5 bln in Q2

OSLO, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Norway's $1.1 trillion sovereign wealth fund, the world's largest, made a 3.0% return on investment in the second quarter, earning 256 billion Norwegian crowns ($28.5 billion), it said on Wednesday.

The return for the quarter was 0.19 percentage point below the fund's benchmark index, it added.

The sovereign wealth fund invests Norway's revenues from oil and gas production in foreign stocks, bonds and real estate. ($1 = 8.9858 Norwegian crowns)
