COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) -- Hyundai Motor America said Monday that U.S. vehicle sales rose 8 percent in November, helped by sales late in the month, and it predicted "continued momentum" in regions of the Northeast hit by Hurricane Sandy.
BY THE NUMBERS: Hyundai sold 53,487 vehicles last month, up from 49,610 in November 2011.
TOP SELLERS: The company sold 17,660 Sonatas, up from 15,668 a year ago, and 15,923 Elantras, up from 12,414 in the same month last year.
HOT MODELS: The gain for Sonata equaled 28 percent. Among smaller-selling models, sales of the Azera jumped to 751 from 58 a year ago.
