Vegan burgers have taken over the world. You can already get plant-based burgers at nearly every fast food joint, and now you can buy Nestlé's "Awesome Burger" at Costco, which makes living that vegan life way easier.

Nestlé owns the brand Sweet Earth Foods which makes the Awesome Burger. According to Live Kindly, the Awesome Burger patties are made from yellow pea protein and wheat gluten. As of right now, the plant-based patties have been spotted at select Costco locations in Texas and the midwest.

Back in July Nestlé’s CEO, Mark Schneider, told Market Watch that the brand would be turning its attention to many new plant-based and vegan food options. "The whole notion of giving consumers a choice when it comes to plant-based alternatives is going to be a key theme going forward,” Schneider told the outlet. “We’re talking about a pretty significant mega-trend.”

Mega-trend is right, as plant-based meats like the Impossible Burger have made their way onto the mainstream radar at Burger King and Red Robin. Dunkin' even launched a Beyond Meat breakfast sandwich nationwide in October.

Having plant-based options rolling out at retailers like Costco makes them more convenient and affordable to get than before, so I'm sure vegans everywhere are rejoicing. Keep in mind, you don't have to be full-blown vegan to enjoy a plant-based burger.

The Awesome Burger, for example, has 26 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber per serving, making it just another way to get in your protein for the day. Be sure to head on over to Costco to check these patties out; they come in a pack of 6 patties and sell for only $10.79. And while you're at it, shop their other iconic items, too.
