SASKATOON, Saskatchewan (AP) _ Nutrien Ltd. (NTR) on Wednesday reported second-quarter earnings of $1.42 billion.
The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-based company said it had profit of $2.24 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.48 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.39 per share.
The producer of potash and other fertilizers posted revenue of $8.15 billion in the period.
Nutrien expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.40 to $2.70 per share.
Nutrien shares have increased slightly more than 5 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 23 percent in the last 12 months.
