Obama to propose array of gun control measures, Washington Post says

President Obama is expected to propose wide ranging gun control measures later today, including mandatory background checks for all firearms buyers, and prohibitions of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips, according to The Washington Post. The president is also expected to outline a number of executive actions that his administration can implement on its own, including enhanced federal scientific research on gun violence and a modernized federal database system to track guns, criminals and the mentally ill, the newspaper added.
