Oil States International: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

HOUSTON (AP) _ Oil States International Inc. (OIS) on Thursday reported a loss of $20 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of 33 cents.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 34 cents per share.

The energy services company posted revenue of $134.8 million in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $139.8 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $2.49. A year ago, they were trading at $15.13.
