Winners and losers
Stocks getting hit today include Valeant as the troubled drugmaker issued guidance that fell well below expectations, arts and crafts chain Michaels getting unstitched after cutting its outlook, and GoDaddy, slipping on a Citi downgrade based on valuation concerns.
Stocks climbing higher today include online realty site Zillow on the settling of its lawsuit with Move, chemical company Axiall jumping on an FT report that it will be bought out, and Hertz on an SEC filing that billionaire Carl Icahn increased his stake in the company.
Looking ahead
At 10 a.m. ET, we'll get another look at the employment situation with the Labor Department's Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, or JOLTS, for April. The prior month saw nearly 5.8 million job openings.
At 10:30 a.m., the EIA will release its weekly oil inventory report. Last week we saw a drawdown of 1.4 million barrels.
And in Washington, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a joint session of Congress. Modi is the fifth Indian prime minister to address Congress, and the first since 2005.
