Old Dominion coach Bobby Wilder had quite the Mother’s Day present for walk-on linebacker Marvin Branch’s mom.

During a team meeting, an assistant got Branch’s mom on FaceTime before passing the phone to Wilder. In front of the entire Monarchs team, Wilder brought Branch to the front of the room for him to read an important message to his mom: He is now on full scholarship.

These moments never get old, do they?

This video comes on the heels of another great Mother’s Day moment from East Carolina, where coach Scottie Montgomery surprised Kiante Anderson’s mom with the news of her son’s scholarship while she was at work.

As for Branch, he played in 23 games over the past two seasons for the Monarchs after redshirting in 2014. He had 30 tackles in 2015 and 14 in 2016. Branch also has four career fumble recoveries — two in 2015 and two in 2016. He will be a redshirt junior in 2017.

Old Dominion won its first-ever bowl game in 2016, a 24-20 decision over Eastern Michigan in the Bahamas Bowl, to finish 10-3.
