Omnicom Group 4Q results beat analysts' estimates

Omnicom Group 4th-qtr. results top analysts' estimates; boosts quarterly dividend by 33 pct.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Omnicom Group's net income rose 12 percent in the fourth quarter as U.S. revenue increased and overseas revenue edged slightly lower.

The performance topped analysts' estimates. The advertising and marketing company also announced Tuesday that it increased its quarterly dividend by 33 percent.

For the three months ended Dec. 31, Omnicom Group earned $299.9 million, or $1.13 per share. In the prior-year period it earned $268.4 million, or 96 cents per share.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet forecast earnings of $1.09 per share.

Revenue rose 2 percent to $3.94 billion from $3.85 billion. Wall Street expected $3.93 billion.

In the U.S., revenue rose 5.1 percent to $2.03 billion. International revenue slipped less than 1 percent to $1.92 billion.

Omnicom Group Inc.'s full-year net income increased to $975.8 million, or $3.61 per share, from $941.9 million, or $3.33 per share, in the previous year. Revenue rose to $14.22 billion from $13.87 billion.

U.S. revenue climbed 4.5 percent to $7.36 billion, while overseas revenue climbed less than 1 percent to $6.86 billion.

The New York company raised its quarterly dividend to 40 cents per share from 30 cents per share. The dividend will be paid on April 2 to shareholders of record on March 5.

Omnicom shares finished at $55.36 on Monday.
