OmniVision spikes on blowout quarter

Jon "DRJ" Najarian (ask-drj@optionmonster.com)

Earnings, Revenue, Guidance All Strong

OmniVision Technologies earned $0.31 a share in its fourth quarter on revenue of $336.2 million. Analysts had only expected $0.21 and $318.93 million, respectively. Guidance was also well above consensus, and OVTI is ripping more than 20 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Guess Crushes Estimates

Guess reported first-quarter profit of $0.14 a share, crushing the $0.08 consensus estimate. Sales were in line with expectations and guidance was better than Street estimates. GES climbs more than 8 percent in the premarket.

Palo Alto Slips on Weak Outlook

Palo Alto Networks had profit above expectations, but revenue missed. It also said fourth-quarter sales will be no more than $110 million, lagging the $113.7 million estimate. Earnings guidance of $0.06 a share lagged the $0.07 consensus, as well. PANW drops almost 13 percent in early trading.
