NEENAH, Wis. (AP) -- A federal workplace-safety agency has cited GTO Contractors for six alleged safety violations for failing to protect workers from falls.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed fines of nearly $122,000 against GTO Contractors LLC.
OSHA says its investigators found conditions that exposed workers to fall hazards at roofing work sites in Janesville and Middleton.
The agency says the company failed to take proper safety precautions for workers on a steep roof, and failed to provide related training. OSHA also says the company has been cited five times since 2007 for similar violations.
A message left with GTO on Tuesday was not immediately returned.
The company has 15 business days to comply with the fines, contest the citations or request a conference with OSHA.
