Detectives learned the gun belonged to Reyes-Juarez.

During a search of Reyes-Juarez’s room, detectives found cocaine, oxycodone, a holster, magazine and 9mm ammunition.

A Sheriff's Office report said Reyes-Juarez told witnesses on scene to lie to law enforcement and hide his guns and drugs.

While the shooting was determined to be self-inflicted and accidental, detectives established probable cause to charge Reyes-Juarez.

His arraignment will be Jan. 18.
